I told you to break this plastic part. You broke the plastic.
But why did you damage the metal underneath? You are damaging the metal. Why arent you repairing it?
I came to your shop at 11 a.m. You kept me waiting until 6 p.m.
You told me to come at 4 p.m. so you could do the job. I came at 4 p.m., waited for two hours, and after that you said you couldnt do it.
So right now, you are at fault, and you are not accepting your responsibility. I have never seen a company like yours.
Please check whether the protection under a 2024 Honda HR-V is plastic or metal.
There are two protections: one plastic and one metal. You broke the plastic onewhy are you leaving the metal one loose? You know that this can fall off while driving in the future.
I told your employee to secure it with a plastic zip tie, or if you broke it, to remove it completely. I even said I didnt want you to work on it anymore.
But you didnt remove it.
Now I am requesting full compensation for the damage to my vehicle. I have never seen a company like yours.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. Spoke with corporate 800 line and they told me to return to the store for a refund.
The manager argued with me but eventually provided refund.
Fun times. Ask for correction at the store and when they don’t comply call corporate.
After reading the reviews posted here, I feel the need to share my experience. First, it's worth mentioning that I hardly ever post reviews.
I had an issue with Mavis and was very disappointed by the actions of the shop and the response offered from the manager. However, I just got off the phone with customer service, and I didn't hold for long. They heard my issue and offered a reasonable solution within minutes.
My faith has been restored! Thank you!!

Verified ReviewerTotal scam—sold me a "warranty" they refuse to honor.
I will never step foot in a Mavis Tire again. When I bought my tires, they pushed the road hazard warranty hard, promising 'total peace of mind' for any punctures or damage.
Now that I actually have an unserviceable tire from a standard road hazard, they are doing everything in their power to dodge the claim. Despite their policy clearly stating coverage for 'cuts, snags, bruises, and impact breaks' within 3 years or until 2/32nds of tread remains, the staff at this location suddenly developed amnesia. They tried to tell me the damage was 'unrepairable' and therefore not covered, which is the literal definition of why you buy the warranty in the first place. They even tried to blame my car's alignment for the damage just to avoid a replacement—a classic bait-and-switch tactic.
It is predatory to sell a protection plan and then treat customers like they're 'dumb' for expecting the company to follow its own contract. Warning to others: Do not pay for their 'protection' plans. They are happy to take your money at the counter, but when it's time to pay up, they'll hide behind fine print and 'manager discretion' that never seems to go in the customer's favor.
I'm filing a formal complaint with their corporate office and the BBB. Save yourself the headache and go to a shop that actually values honesty.

FIX the troubles
i am writing to you because i feel as though i have been ripped off by your company. let me explain.
i have been using your company for a while and had built up a good relationship with jerome. i would come in and he would explain what was wrong. he would call me and let me know what they found. when i would come in, he would take me into the shop to show me the car and once again help me to understand what the problem was and what the plan was for fixing it.
so, when i brought my car in because it was squeaking when i braked, i believed him when he said the brake area just needed to be cleaned. less than $90 phew!
unfortunately, that didn't do the trick. my car was still making a scary noise. i had to borrow another car because i didn't want the brakes (or anything else) to break while i was driving. i brought the car back. this time, they said that i needed a tire repair and new wheel bearings on the rear wheels even though the sound was coming from the front. when i asked why jerome didn't mention that to me the first time, the man on the phone said that no jerome worked there and had never worked there. he said he couldn't see in the computer system when i had come in for service. he said the computer system didn't go back that far. really? it didn't go back two weeks?
none of this was making sense. i was getting upset. i said i needed to make sure that the noise was really going to be gone this time. he told me that he couldn't drive the car around to check and make sure that the noise was gone. he said that the company doesn't have insurance for that. what if they got in a car accident while they were driving the car around? i can't imagine a car shop not having insurance to cover the 'what if we're in an accident' scenario. how can you find some of the issues that people are having with their cars if you can't drive the car around and see what it is doing? how can you be sure that what you have done to fix it really works? despite my misgivings, i agreed to pay for the work he said i needed--nearly $1000.
the man on the phone was not at the desk when i arrived to pick up my car. the man at the desk informed me that the guy i had talked to was the manager. so, i couldn't really talk to anyone else at the store about my aggravation and concern.
shortly after spending that money, the noise was back! i had to, once again, borrow a car until i could get my car to the shop. as you can imagine, i have lost my trust in the whitehall mavis. so, i took my car to the bethlehem mavis instead. they took a look at it. they said i needed new rear tires and new struts. it cost about another $1,200! i had hoped that they would recognize all the time and money i had already put into this problem, but they did not. they said they were a different location and they had nothing to do with the original work done on the car.
despite all this work on my car, the brakes still make a noise when i slow down. it didn't used to make any noise at all. it is less scary, and i don't think i am going to die if i continue to drive my car.
i have lost trust in your company. i feel as though i was treated poorly at the whitehall location and i feel like i didn't need to spend the $1000 there. they had me do an expensive repair, didn't check to ensure that they actually fixed it, and sent me on my way with the noise still there.
i am hoping that you can refund some of the money i spent. i am also hoping for someone to ride in the car with me and explain the noise i am hearing. is it something i should be worried about? is it okay? why is the car making this noise that it didn't used to? i would really appreciate any help you give me.
thank you,
scott pinsley

Verified Reviewer |Bad processing and damage to my vehicle
During an oil change service, the underbody protection of my vehicle was damaged. About a week later, it completely fell off and started making serious noise while driving.
I brought my vehicle back to your service center and requested that the underbody protection be replaced, repaired, or at least removed to stop the noise.
However, no action was taken.
In addition, I had a wheel alignment and balancing service done and paid for it. For the other issue, I was told to come at 4:00 PM. Despite waiting for nearly one hour, no one attended to me, my vehicle was not taken in, and no solution was provided.
Instead of taking responsibility for their own mistake, the staff showed a completely indifferent and irresponsible attitude.
This business is far from professional and does not care about customer satisfaction. I definitely do not recommend this company.
- Bad service
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Be careful when getting your oil changed; they break the underbody protection panel and then refuse to take responsibility for it.

Verified Reviewer |They break your vehicle and then show no accountability
I am writing to express my extreme displeasure and frustration with Mavis as a company. I have been involved in an ongoing issue for a week at the point I am writing this. On August 26th, 2025, I set up a noon appointment to have brake work done at the Mavis location at 1705 Christler Ave. Upon arrival, I sat around for a couple of hours before my car was looked at. Finally, they brought my car into the shop and determined that I needed rotors, pads, and calipers replaced. This was what I expected, and after we figured out pricing, I left the car there for several hours for them to do their work. At around 5 PM, it was getting close to closing time, so I called the location to see if I should head there and pick up the car. They told me yes, head over just before 6 and we will have it done for you. I did so and was met with a mechanic who informed me that it would actually be done tomorrow due to him not having a scanner he needed to put the calipers on. At this point, I was still willing to work with them, even though this was incredibly frustrating. Apparently, at this point in time, they had broken the parking brake motor in my car and did not tell me. I will discuss that more later.
I am frustrated that I took the trip over and paid for an Uber, so I expressed that to the mechanic speaking to me. He motioned to another mechanic and told him to drive me home and pick me up the next day. I accepted this, and next thing I knew, I was in a car with marijuana buds all over the seat and a blunt in the cup holder headed to my house. Again, I let it go and was simply grateful for the ride.
We returned the next day; this time, the same mechanic picked me up in my own car. The car appeared to be functioning from my perspective in the passenger seat. I entered the store and paid for the service in full. They gave me my keys, and I headed to the car. As soon as I started the car, I saw an error message stating that there is a parking brake malfunction. Confused by this, I first turned my car off and back on to make sure it wasn't just something that needed to be reset. Obviously, I got back out of the car and returned to the desk when that did not get rid of the message. One of the mechanics and a person working behind the desk both spoke to me about it. They told me that this actually happened yesterday and that a newer mechanic dropped the motor for my parking brake. I was obviously shocked by this and particularly frustrated by the fact that they clearly wanted to hide it and hoped I would drive off not noticing.
I immediately wanted to know how this would be fixed, and I was met with promises of ordering the parts and promises that a manager of some sort would call me. They insisted that driving the vehicle was safe, and I wound up leaving the store at their insistence to await further contact from this manager. I attempted to contact the store later that day and was unable to talk to anyone. Either they were in the restroom and would call me back, or the store simply ignored the phone call entirely. I have yet to hear anything at all from the store or the manager they said would contact me.
I felt out of options and started looking for a corporate phone number to reach out to for help. I called the Mavis corporate customer service line, and the woman answering the phone was very pleasant. She attempted to call three different district managers of different levels multiple times. These calls went to voicemail and were unanswered. On her advice, I waited a few hours to see if I got a call from anyone, and I did not. I called back to the corporate number. This time, I spoke to a gentleman who was also very pleasant and trying to be helpful. He had the same exact result with managers simply ignoring or not answering his calls. He finally managed to get someone to answer him who was a district manager of a different region. This manager called me and gave me his phone number, assured me that he would handle it, and to look out for a call from him. To date, I have called and left him voicemails twice on separate days since then and have not heard back. This was particularly frustrating because I finally thought I had found someone who could resolve this issue for me.
All in all, the Christler Ave location is basically criminal, and rather than own up to their mistakes, they hope their customers will drive off with a broken vehicle. The corporate center seems to try to be helpful, but the managers are unresponsive. At the time of me writing this, my vehicle is still broken due to their mechanic's actions, and there is no communication at all from anyone at this company on any level. I am disgusted by all of this, and I regret ever trusting Mavis with my vehicle.
- Company is unresponsive and does not fix issues
- Incompetent enough to break vehicle

Verified Reviewer |Tried to push new tire instead of fixing flat
There was a nail on the tread over an inch from the edge to the sidewall. I was told that they could not fix the flat because it was on the sidewall.
I googled what was considered a sidewall and showed it to him. He refused to repair the tire. The next place I took it to never even questioned where the nail was because it was on the tread.
Bottom line, Mavis was trying to sell me a new tire instead of repairing the tire. I will never go there again.

- Would not trust them

Says I needed a tune up. Final results was wrong mileage documented on receipt. Overcharged for spark plugs/ ignition coil. Asked if all filters were change and oil since it was a tune up.
Says no they didn't need to be done. End result $1, 226.05 . Overpriced!!!

First appointment was for 5 pm Thursday to balance tires. Vehicle wasn't brought in the shop until almost 6:30.
Vehicle wasn't finished until 7:30 pm. Job wasn't done right. Vehicle rode worse after service. Made 12:30 appointment today for the service to be done again.
I've been here an hour and a half and the vehicle isn't even in the shop yet. So far I've wasted at least 3 hours of my life that shouldn't have happened. Hopefully, it will be done right this time as I will not come back a third. Silly me, they messed it up a second time so here I sit again.
This service should be refunded.
This shop is a joke.
Preferred solution: The job done right and a refund for wasting five hours of my time.

Verified Reviewer |Unacceptable Service
I called customer service (1.800.757.4291) this past Friday and spoke to a very nice lady who said that she would escalate this issue and to expect a call from the branch manager - I received no call. On Monday I call the 1.800# again and the associate I spoke with put me on hold to call that location - after being on hold for a minute or 2 she came back and told me that the location ordered new (I hope different and correct) struts for my car and we agreed to drop my car off this morning.Hopefully this issue will be resolved by this afternoon
I went back the the store on Friday as agreed - the acting manager told me it would be at least 2 hours before they would be able to look at it then he added there's really nothing they can do - Seriously?! I then called their customer service at 1.800.757.4291.
I spoke to a very nice woman who said the store manager will be calling me - I have yet to receive any phone call. I only hope the store manager isn't the kid that told me that there's nothing they can do.
I picked my car up on Sunday and noticed this 'knock' coming from the rear of my car. After searching my car, I realized the 'knock' must be from the work that was done. I called and took my car back to have them look at it yesterday, they brought me back to look and showed me the cover and how it would hit the strut - I said great, how do we fix this? They shrugged their shoulders, and the manager said they could try drilling *** and pushing a zip tie through the cover to eliminate the knock. Frustrated because I've already been there for over an hour, I told them to do it. The mechanic came out to me a little bit later and said it was done. I asked if it was test-driven, he said no, and asked me if I wanted him to, but he seemed to think that did the trick, and I just wanted to get out of there at that point. As soon as I pulled out, the knock was there just like before. I then called the store, told them, and said Id bring the car up on Friday for them to try again.
I find this extremely unacceptable. I paid $1146.41 to basically have my car totaled, value-wise, because if I try to resell it, no one will want to drive around with this knock. The manager even said this is a known issue with these struts if he had said that theres a chance there could be a knock I would have told him not to do it but there was no mention of this. I said this is a manufacturing defect, he said it wasnt. I was dumbfounded by his answer and lack of understanding. How do I explain a zip tie in my car to a potential buyer? For a $50,000 car new to replace.
There is not 1 person from your company or the company that makes the strut that would accept this knock in their car and I invite one and all to come for a ride with me to hear this and tell me what they think. I am taking my car back in on Friday. I implore you to get in touch with them and make sure that when I leave on Friday with my car that the knock is gone. If this is not resolved satisfactorily, I will be taking this public and putting the company and location on blast on social media. I am not one to do this, but the reaction of the staff and the quality of the work is unacceptable to me. I look forward to your response. I can be reached at (570) 592-****. The invoice number is attached.
Thank you,
Derrick Haverlak

Verified ReviewerTheft, lies, deceit.
I bought tires from Mavis a couple years ago and they were still well under warranty, but the tires did not last through the warranty period. On December 7, 2024 I had to get new tires again.
I was expecting a credit for the remaining warranty on the previous tires I bought at Mavis like literally EVERY other tire store does, but that didn't happen so I learned the warranty means absolutely nothing at Mavis and Mavis does not honor the warranty which I did not know until checkout. At the time of the you're purchase on December 7, 2024, I paid $791.96 for four tires, $79.96 for computer balance package, $39.96 for service package with labor, and a $14 tire recycling charge totaling $989.10. Fast-forward to today, June 7, 2025, I went to Mavis to have my tires rotated and balanced. I was then charged again for the balancing after buying the package when I bought the tires.
That was an additional $69.96 for something I've already paid for with the package the day I bought the tires.
Theft by deception and not honoring their warranties on their products and services and they don't inform you until checkout. No other tire company has these deceptive practices and tire rotation and balance is included in the packages at the time of the tire sale and installation.
User's recommendation: Stay away unless you want to be charges for the same service multiple times.

I am not happy at all with the service I had.
Everything was positive talking to customer service. But very dissatisfied with Neil at Mavis and being there 4 hours to do a job is unacceptable.
Came to get my rear brakes and rotors replaced. In one hour, it was done.
I left and heard a disturbing noise coming from the rear brake on the right. I had to turn right around to come back to have it looked at already. I've been here almost an additional 2 hours, and they finally, and hopefully, fixed the issue. In the meantime, I called Mavis customer service.
They apologized and offered a free oil change.
I then came out to talk to Neal, and at first, he did not want to give me one, but then he agreed. I only hope in the future I continue to use Mavis for brakes and tires after today's episode.

Verified ReviewerNTB MECHANIC DIDNT TIGHTEN LUG NUTS
I was able to get my truck back on the 8th of September. Ive had no further contact from Mavis. The only thing they've done was fixing my truck and renting a truck while mine was being fixed.
Im not sure. If they stand by their word and make things right then I'll come back here and state they've done so.
I have received no callback since. Now I'm angry. On 7/12/25 at the NTB store in Vienna, WV, I had an appointment to have brakes and rotors put on my truck. After the install, I left the store and approximately 1 mile later my left driver's side rear wheel came off, damaging my truck.
My wife and I, plus 3 grandsons, were in the truck when this happened at about 45 mph. The mechanic that performed the work was sent to me and tried to reinstall the wheel that came off. He admitted that he didn't tighten the lug nuts on the wheel. I have a witness that saw all of this happen.
The reason I was having brakes and rotors put on my truck was that I was closing on a home purchase in Mississippi on Aug 4th, and I wanted it to be safe. I've been without a truck since then. I spoke to Mike Peasley about this issue. I'm a 100% Service Connected Disabled Veteran with PTSD, etc.
This has made my life *** My truck was the only way to transport my trailers to and from Mississippi from our storage units in Kentucky. We sold our home in Kentucky. I am currently staying in Washington, WV, at my daughter's home until August 3rd, then starting to move my trailers to Mississippi. My truck is at a collision shop, but I have reason to believe it possibly won't get fixed in time for my move.
I needed a truck days before this to finish loading one of my trailers this past week in Kentucky. No one has mentioned anything to me about a rental or my inconveniences from this mishap, only an apology and saying my truck would be fixed. NTB also still sent the transaction through for $959.40. That felt like a kick in the teeth.
I didn't cause this situation, but now after days of not being contacted by Mavis, I'm feeling like I'm being ignored. I'm going to be seeking advice from an attorney soon.
This could've cost my family their lives. The amount of stress this has caused my wife and me is tremendous, so a callback from Mavis Corporate, whether day, night, or weekend, seems like a small effort for what's happened.
