I bought 4 brand new tires in your Melbourne, Florida store only to have to return twice because of my car shaking. They realigned my tire, and I had to bring it back again.
I waited over an hour to find out the tires were defective, and they would replace them all but had to order them. I was already there 3 times and did not want to wait any longer. I had a long trip coming up and could not wait, so they had other tires there in the shop but cost more. So, in order to get out of there, I had to pay an extra 100 dollars.
I feel this is not fair, and I doubt I will ever use them again.
I had spent 966.00 dollars, and now I had to add another 100 dollars on your store credit card, and this has put me in a financial mess. Is there anything you can do?
- Great service

Verified Reviewer |Still have same issue and was over charged
I went to mavis in Milford PA had to Deal with Danielle , i went in with needing front brakes, wanted a tire light checked and a slow leak repaired in one tire. I get a call back from Danielle and she tells me i need front brake Rotors and 2 Calipers along with rear brake and Rotors.
Also said i need a battery, i never had any issue with the battery. I told her i could do the battery myself she insisted that if i go with all the brakes she would give the battery for free, also said they bead sealed my tire leak. I asked about the tire lite, she said they still need to scan for the problem. So im wonder why would the break the tire off the rim seal the bead and not know if maybe that tire had the sensor issue, ok so i said ok.
Do the work, she charged me $1,800 when i got the bill i noticed the parts marked up higher then what i could have bought them for. She dismounted the lobor but over priced the parts , the battery was not free and the tire light never fixed, when i pulled into the lot i noticed the tire still low, so the mechanic pulled it back in to check and pulled it back out and said no its all good but you'll need to bring it back for us to look into the tire light. Well 4 days later im still adding air to the tire, im not an amateur when it comes to automotive repairs. Im a 60 old man who worked as a certified Ford technician for 20 years.
I cant do the work myself but know what im talking about. I would never step foot in mavis again, a district manager Joe called and said they are slot on with the pricing and repairs.
I would appreciate some compensation for this unprofessional Mavis location. She thinks she knows more then the customers because she has that job, its called a narcissist

Verified Reviewer |Terrible service and no follow through on refund
06.23.24- my husband and I were returning from a trip out of eastern NM. One of the vehicles we drive is a 93 Suburban (which belongs to my dad).
We noticed that the brakes were beginning to grind on the way out of town; it never went through a "squeaking/squealing" phase. Now, I do want to note that although it was likely needing pads/rotors, it was in safe driving condition.
06.25.24- I take the suburban into Mavis. Based on their exemplary reviews, it was easy to choose them; which now I'm highly questioning their legitimacy! I go in for my 3PM brake appt and get quoted $505 for new front brake pads and rotors.
As a girl going into a shop you worry about getting taken advantage of as is, but the store manager, Daniel, had quoted a man nearby over $1,000 for all new brake pads and rotors, so I figured it was just going to be high. I began to call my dad to see what he thinks about the price; however, he was busy at the time so it took a little bit to reach him. In the meantime, Daniel comes back to let me know that I will need to have the brake line flushed and that it may need a new caliper d/t it being potentially seized (an additional $150). Daniel has me go into the shop to show me that my wheel bearings are loose, (passenger's front).
Well they're tapered meaning that a little play is fine. I stated that I can pay for the additional caliper or wheel bearings, not both.
Around this time is when I reach my dad. He stated that the price is way too high and that he'll just plan on meeting me to see what the suburban needs. The mechanics put everything back together but continued to charge the $154 since they had got started.
I understood that it was protocol and let them charge my card. Once the suburban is ready, Daniel walks me out (cigarette in hand) and begins asking, "You're not going to be driving very far are you? I wouldn't go any faster than 70mph." I thought it was strange but likely something they told everyone that didn't get the suggested work. Upon getting into the suburban, I see a huge grease spot in the seat!
I asked a mechanic to clean it. I make it nearly halfway home (6mi total from shop) when I hear something that sounds like the wheel has came off the axle. I'm on the loop at this time and it's 4:30PM. I make it to my exit and stop to assess the damage.
Luckily, the wheel is still on but it's smoking and there's fluid leaking out onto the rim. I do make it home, very slowly. Also, to add another small detail to this very long story, is that Im 22 weeks pregnant. I get in the house and complete a survey from Mavis and get a call from the regional manager, Nick in about 5min time.
He suggested that I have the suburban towed in the next morning and that theyll only charge what the parts cost. My dad wanted to assess the damage himself, so we didnt go that route, so he came to get the vehicle on Thursday. In the meantime, I spoke with a Dawn (who seemed sincerely concerned about my wellbeing) through the customer service number that is shared on the negative reviewed posts. She mentioned that they should be able to refund the $154 and also any additional damaged parts.
On Friday morning, my dad found the following damage: spindle is ruined, treads were stripped and the bearing welded themselves to it. The drivers side was also tightened up way too tight but luckily isn't damaged. Nick spoke to both my dad and myself who agreed to give the refund back. Nick mentioned that Daniel would give me a call either Friday afternoon or Saturday.
I waited until Saturday at 3:50PM to give the shop a call to see about the refund. Daniel answered and said that he would give me a call back in 15-20min, but never did. I texted Nick at 5pm and havent heard back. I called Mavis today (06.30) but a different manager stated that he cant complete refunds.
Now, maybe since it is the weekend, this may be the reason but Im hoping that theyre not about to give me more of a run around on this issue that became a HUGE problem once their mechanics messed with the suburban. I will update once/if the refund is received.
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Reviewer |$900 for botched service & 4 damaged wheels!
Well…they were non-existent so I guess that means I had no experience…which puts them in an even worse position because how can you say you’re a service company and not dutifully service the people that keep your business open?
There are much cheaper alternatives!!! I am contacting you concerning an immediate issue that I am going through with Mavis Discount Tire in Brewster, NY. I went to Mavis on 5/28/24 to purchase 4 tires with installation and an alignment. Unfortunately, since day 1 I have had the worst customer service experience, that not only led to a loss of time and money, but also damaged my car and decreased its value.
The mistakes made were beyond the human margin of error and are unwarranted for the price I paid to have this service performed. When I arrived at my appointment on the 28th, they had told me to hand over the keys because everything was good to go! It was not until an hour and 15 minutes into my wait did the manager finally come out and say my tires did not arrive. I went home feeling defeated.
This was extremely inefficient, unproductive, and not to mention poor service that wastes a customers time. I feel as though all the tires should have been checked for their arrival from the moment I got there or even prior in order to prevent this. However, I was apologized to and was asked to come back the next day, and I respectfully agreed. Let me preface this by saying that I had spoken to the manager (Steve?) the first day I was there & had explained to him about a previous horrific service I had at a Mavis in Pawling, NY a few years ago.
I explained to him that they had to replace my wheel because of the severe damage that their impact driver caused on my rim when replacing one tire. Ever since then, I always do a check of my car with photos and with the manager before any mechanic touches it in order to account for scratches and dents because it protects me and the mechanic from false accusations. I have even requested that they take note of the walk-around they did with me and my car. I say this all to you because I had explained this & went through this process with the Manager at Brewster (Steve) before they replaced all 4 tires and he had assured me that they would be careful and be sure to take care of my car well.
I really did have the upmost faith that he would uphold his promise. However, when I got my car back I immediately realized that damage had been done. It truly upset me because I wholeheartedly believed in the service he was promising. My once perfect wheels were now scratched up by obvious impact driver scratches and on more than one wheel.
Worst part is that I know that those types of scratches only happen due to poor workmanship or laziness and are easily preventable. Using the correct protective covering or the right size socket is all it takes. On top of the damage, I had to return immediately after they put the tires on because my check tire pressure light came on. We reset the TPMS and everything seemed fine but by the next morning, the light was on again, and I had to return.
Nothing was found & I told the manager of the damage & he dismissed me; as he said he wouldnt. As you can imagine this lead to a bigger loss of time and money which is unacceptable for a $900 service. I not only paid for installation but I also paid for labor and in good faith should have been treated well as a customer. I am taking such good care of this car because I plan to give it to my son when he turns 16.
If there are large scratches on the wheels it can lead to rust, especially with the salt on NY roads, and further damage and I want this car to last me as long as possible. This was my first car purchase and Im proud of it. I invested in premium wheels on my car for a reason and Im so sad that I didnt get the service that I paid for or expected.
All I ask is for your help in finding a resolution to this issue; even if its just buffing & repainting the rims. Ive already taken so much time & money just trying to get 4 tires on my car from Mavis & I just want to be reimbursed for it with a repair of the damage done at the least after all this trouble.
- Entire business
- Better options
- Money hungry
Preferred solution: I would wish to get my rims buffed & repainted if possible at the very least.
User's recommendation: Get a tire plugged here but that’s about it.

Mavis has gone downhill. The techs are not trained and they scratched my wheel.
They wasted two hours of time trying to patch a run-flat tire. They had no idea it was a run-flat tire and they are supposed to be tire experts. Now I'm stranded as they sent me on my way with a patched run-flat tire. This is negligence and could result in death.
I would like to be compensated for the wheel damage.
This is my attempt to let Mavis make it right. If not, I will pursue legal action.

This has to be the worst Mavis location. My 22 year old son brought his car in for an inspection this past Friday.
They failed his car inspection then tell him he needs over $2,000 worth of repairs to pass.
They said he needed both control arms a tie rod, What made no sense is that a few months back I had purchased new tires from Tire Rack and brought them to a mavis here in NY for an install with an alignment. Now if these part where bad they would not have been able to have done the alignment at the NY location.
They also said he needed all new brakes and rotors. Again I had installed new pads for him before he went back to school last september. They also told him he needed an air filter which I installed a new one for him this summer.
This place is not where you want to bring your vehicle.
My son was in a panic when he got the list of items from Mavis in Milford PA.
I told my son to take the car to another PA inspection location...
he did and it passed. I then called the Milford location to ask them about what they tried to pull on my son.
The manager Danielle is rude and nasty when I confronted her with what had happened, she flat out lied and threated to call the other inspection station and then hung up on me. I called back and she hung up again. That is not how you deal with customers.
I filed a formal complaint with Mavis , and am awaiting a call from a regional manager. and also filed a formal complaint with the PA attorney generals office stating deceptive business practices by this Mavis Tire location in Milford PA...
The Manager Danielle at this Mavis in Milford PA should be fired as she is not a good representative for the Mavis Brand... She should should have taken my call .
- You want to be ripped off
Preferred solution: The manager needs to be fired

I purchased two tires and had an alignment performed four months/5000 miles ago at Mavis Tires and Brakes 3530 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O' Lakes, FL 34639. At the time of purchase, I was told there was no adjustment that could be made to the rear of my vehicle even though the metal was showing through the rear tires that had 2000 miles on them.
I was informed that I had to purchase a camber kit and bring the vehicle back (2017 Ford Explorer) to have an alignment performed. I drove the vehicle home, 7.5 miles, and parked it for six days waiting for the delivery of the camber kit. I brought the vehicle back to Mavis, 7.5 miles, and when I arrived, was told that the camber kit I just spent $60 on and waited six days for wasn't needed. I was then informed that the technician looked up on 'YouTube' (red flag) the proper way to make the adjustments on the rear of the vehicle.
My daughter just brought the vehicle home from college for the weekend and I noticed immediately that the outer edges of the rear tires were already worn to the point the grooves in the tires were missing, basically bald on the outer edges of the tires. After sitting at the understaffed shop for four hours with an appointment, I was told by the manager that the tires were deemed safe and the alignment machine wasn't working properly or wasn't able to align my vehicle properly. So, after waiting for four hours, I was told to 'take the vehicle somewhere else and pay again to have it aligned'. Yet, right afterwards, another customer's vehicle was up on the alignment rack.
It was the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday at this point and my daughter was supposed to drive this vehicle four hours back to Tallahassee the next morning. The manager absolutely refused to give me his name nor would he give me a receipt for the attempted diagnosis of my vehicle. I was treated horribly by this company, especially the manager who is the face of the company to retail customers. The vehicle ended up needing two rear tow links replaced in order to perform a proper alignment on it.
Something that could have easily been performed at this shop. Instead, I was told to leave and find somewhere else to bring it. This was completely unacceptable! I ended up having to keep the vehicle in Tampa so I could find a competent facility to perform the repair several days later.
I was hung out to dry by the manager of this facility. Anyone can take your money without providing quality service and correctly diagnosing and repairing your automobile.
I didn't expect Mavis to be one of those companies. I'm truly disappointed, frustrated and disgusted with the way I was treated by the manager of this location.

Verified Reviewer |Simple Oil Change Gone Bad
2020 Kia Sorento EX. I had an oil change done at this store at 4pm.
$89.00 later, the oil change was complete.
I drove 13 miles to go home, only to find a puddle of oil on my garage floor the next morning.
I called the store they said to bring it right over.
Luckily, I had a quart of oil at home from changing my own oil in the past.
I filled it up and drove 13 miles back.
They proceeded to tell me it was a faulty gasket. The manager started explaining to me what a gasket is, which just annoyed me even more. I said I know what a gasket is, I changed my own oil until now.
Then, he came back 15 minutes later with the gasket that supposedly came out of my car. He said he didn't understand why it was leaking, there wasn't a crack or anything in the gasket.
I said, make sure you put a new one in and not that one.
He said he would. I stood by the window the whole time. The Tech was not happy, of course. Not my Fault!
Make sure your store does the job right the first time.
I asked the manager since I had drive 13 miles each way, add a quart of oil and had to clean up my garage floor, what could he do for me. He said he could only offer me a discount on my next oil change. I said I won't be back.
At the check out he then gave me $20 back on my card for the trouble. It was something, but, in my opinion, not enough.
I hate when these auto places see a single women and talk to them like their stupid!
I then went out to my car and got in, my front driver seat was reclined all the way back!
WHY? Because they were just screwing with me! There is no freaking reason to recline my seat.
Because of that, I got out of my car and climbed under the car to make sure nothing was leaking, which it wasn't. But when I stood up, they were watching me from the garage window.
Probably to see how I would react. So childish.
I will never go back to this store again.

I went to the Englishtown, NJ store for tires and was quoted a price for 4 Michelin Defender tires of $877.00 plus tax. After a 5 hr wait, the car was ready for pick up.
My wife brought the car home and when I saw the receipt, I found out that I was sold 4 Nika tires instead. My car needed 235/65/R18, but the size they sold me was 265/60/VR18, which is an inferior tire. The manager on the phone, Rich, would not compensate us for the lost time.
I am a sick man with a heart condition and did not feel I should be inconvenienced in this manner. I will not be using Mavis anymore.

Verified Reviewer |Resolved: Messed my car up and won't fix
I took my car to Mavis Tire and Auto in Darlington, SC on 2/15/2024 for brake pads, they recommended some new calipers, I told them I just wanted the pads. Seemed expensive for a set of pads but I promptly paid them $210.
I was not informed of anything else. A few days later I happened to notice that one of my lug nuts was missing on my car and the stud was stripped and I stopped by this place as soon as I could on 3/5/2024. I was lied to and told that they informed me of this the day I had the brake pads done. I was told they would contact me back when they had the replacement part and set up for another shop to fix it.
I never hear anything about my car stud being fixed, so I call Tyler on 3/11/2024 to find out if they have the part in and when they plan on fixing my car.
Tyler then tells me that I was supposed to order the part because Mavis cant order off of Rockauto. This is another lie. I asked Tyler to tell me what part to purchase off Rockauto, he said *** call me back. Guess what, he hasnt called me back.
On 3/12/2024, I send a message to customerservice@***.com with this same complaint, along with how rude Tyler is.
I also submitted a complaint through their website through their Contact us portal which doesnt allow you to type too much. I also looked up my invoice at this time for the invoice number for the complaint and saw that they charged me for 79.99 for a TPMS check, something I didnt ask for, need or verbally agree to. Anyways, Surprise!, I never heard anything. I sent another email to customerservice@***.com today.
These people arent responding .I also want to emphasize that Tyler is super rude to customers and his coworkers alike, he goes out of his way to make sure customers are made to feel like an inconvenience. I am now having to get this car fixed at another shop, at my own expense because they dont care enough about their customers or my life to make their mistake right. Id like to be fully refunded and for them to pay a separate shop to fix my stud they broke.
Edit: This location is in Darlington, SC but was not on the list so I had to choose another location.
Also I lost more money than I spent at this place because I am having to pay out of my pocket to fix my car because these people have ghosted me. I'm not stepping foot in this place or talking to the douchecanoe who has been rude and lied to me thrice.

WARNING!! Don't trust them.
Updated complaint: watched real mechanic diagnosis problem and put piece that mavis lost back in my car with my own eyes up close and the engine light is gone.
$28 for part and 60 for labor and im good. I feel sorry for anyone going to freeport Mavis.
First complaint: They lost part of my Oil Filter housing cover while they were doing an oil change on my car and it started a bunch of engine issues. They also refused to take responsibility for it. The store manager Eric is very unprofessional and makes up random stuff about certain cars, Mercedes Benz , when he knows nothing about high end cars.
Eric lied and said he was there for the job on my car, but he forget that he told me he was at physical therapy during that time. He also forgot that I waited for my car. 1) They didn't put enough oil in my car so the oil warning came on so I had to go back to them .2) The engine light came on as soon as I left so I had to go back to them again. 3) They don't have Knowledgeable staff on site and they don't have proper equipment at the store so I had to drive to two different locations to get the engine light reset because according to a female worker who was not a mechanic, " nothing was wrong with my car." 4) Eric put the oil change under a different car of mine which shows a lack of attention to detail and he got mad when i asked him to correct it.
He started saying he wasn't a robot and yelling that im nitpicking. I guess putting work done on wrong cars is normal here. 5) Eric is like a ticking time bomb over the phone yelling when he gets frustrated which shows he has no customer service training. He will get mad at you for him and his workers mistakes.
I'll definitely see them in small claims court if I find out further damage was done to my vehicle as a result of their work.
Stay for away!! Listed pic 1 is missing the $28 housing piece with rings that goes in middle of filter. Pic 2 is the piece i had buy.
Serious lack of supervision here. I even went back and asked them to check the trash for the part so i wouldn't have to buy it again, absolutely no accountability there.
Female worker at desk doesn't know anything, she could of easily looked up the problem just like wantagh Mavis did and saw that both problems are related to said oil change that they did.
No effort and pure laziness. 6)They also got the floor dirty.
Thank you Eric, I definitely won't be back and will spread the word about your shop, "50 Percent Off, 4 hour Oil Change Nightmare" is the name of this true story.
