Rounded lug nuts

On Wednesday March 17, 2021 I took my Ford Escape 2017 SE to your store located on Beach Blvd in Jacksonville Fl 32250 to have an oil change they ask me if I wanted my tires rotated and I said sure. Today Sunday March 24 I got a nail in my rear drivers tire. I pulled into Goodyear Tire which was the closest place to fix my tire and before they even attempted to take my tire off showed me that every lug nut on my car had been completely rounded from using the wrong sized socket to remove the tires causing me to have to purchase new lug nuts. My family has been using Mavis, formerly Sun Tires, for years. I cannot express the displeasure I have now for your company. Your inexperienced technician cost me 140.00 plus tax to replace what he damaged on my car. I was going to take my car there for shocks but that will not occur now.

They only agreed to pay for the diagnostic test I had to have on my car due to the mistake they made with the oil change on my 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage. But they refused to pay me for the tow I had to get from Mavis tire in calumet city, Illinois to Mitsubishi dealership in mattson ,Illinois which cost me $143. I would not have it towed if they hadnt over filled my car with oil. I shouldnt have to eat the cost for their mistake. I emailed the CEO of Mavis and havent received a response or call. Nor have I received the $130 reimbursement for diagnostic test

My car was having issues starting, the lights and radio would come on but wouldn't turn over. Brought it to Mavis, who said I definitely needed an alternator and starter.

$1200 later, the car still randomly wont start. I brought it back multiple times, and they said they couldn't duplicate the issue and basically shrugged at me. Obviously i didn't need the new parts they charged me for and it would have been much easier had they just said it was above their capabilities and suggest i take it to the dealership or someone more qualified. I had no issues with them up to this point, and by making me feel ripped off and without a car half the week because it wont start they have now lost a customer.

It's disheartening.

I'm not a rich person with cash to burn and now have to tow it to another mechanic and spend more money because it wont start at all at this point. Just pretty pissed off at a situation that could have been avoided had they been honest when i brought the car in to begin with.

Almost had a blowout

Mavis Discount Tire - Almost had a blowout

Good morning,

I have an issue that needs to be addressed. About 2 months ago I bought (2) tires and PURCHASED the road hazard warranty, I got a nail in my tire and brought it back to the same shop I purchased the tires at and was informed because I am an UBER driver, they cannot honor it.

NOTHING in the written warranty (prior to 2 months ago) states this and they tried to offset what I paid for by offering (2) free oil changes, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

It was explained to me by the manager at this shop (650 Douglas Rd. E Oldsmar FL 34677) this was explained to them in a recent meeting, well unless you can provide me with the meeting minutes I don't see anything stating this, I believe that would be theft on your part (took my money and refused to service).

Also, I took my car for an oil change at another facility (don't trust Mavis) low and behold one of my 2 month old tires is split down the middle THIS COULD HAVE KILLED ME OR SOMEONE ELSE IF I HAD A BLOWOUT!

How old were these tires before they were put on my vehicle? Someone needs to make this right.

Purchased tires from NTB now Mavis on 11/01/19 have less than 10.000 miles on them no problem had flat today wanted to buy a new one was told that tire was an exclusive to NTB. Not a thing they can do also was told just buy 4 new tires. NTB is still is around in different states Ohio has a stack of the same tire but cant ship and Mavis wont ask for one to be sent. Wow what great service they just dont give a dam.

Mavis Discount Tire - Complaint
The location at 780 rogers st in Lowell ma has blocked the customer view window. Why is this? It was a huge part of the reason I loved this location. There is flattened cardboard, a roller board, and a jacket stuffed in the cracks with the obvious attempt at obstructing the waiting customer's view. It has NOTHING to do with social distancing as I can view this window normally from 10 or more feet away. If I could upload a pic I would. That being said I did take a pic and would be happy to send it so you'll understand why you have lost me as a customer. I miss ntb

Very very unprofessional, horrible customer service. Will never ever return to this store and will not ever recommend this store to anyone. Made an appointment for 9:00am this morning and after waiting for 2 hours was then told did not have tires in stock, had only 2 tires. Store located in Flowood Ms. Horrible experience. If you guys want to stay in business you need to revamp your stores and upgrade your customer service.

Negative Experience

I brought my car into Mavis in Carmel, NY last Thursday for a flat rear right tire and because of something rattling and bouncing under my car. They told me i had a flat tire, a rusted muffler, and a leaky battery, all of which they could fix by Friday.

I picked up my car on Friday, the tire being "fixed" for free. I was asked if Id be able to rate them a 10 across the board, which I said yes to. The next day, I heard vibrating on my way to work, come to find out, they never fixed my tire & it was completely flat again. I filled it up with air and brought it in the next day, when I was told I couldnt be helped that day and would have to come back the next day.

When I went in the next day, Monday, they found another nail in my front right tire as well as my rear right. There was so much rubber in the rear right from driving on it while it was flat that it had to be replaced, but I was told Id get a great deal for being so patient with them. I was surprised that they were going to charge me for their mistake to begin with, but I thanked him anyway. The tire he (Tom) pitched to me on the phone was $90 plus $26 for other charges, but he would drop it to $50 and would eliminate the $26 charge.

He asked if I wanted the warranty for $9, so I said yea. I get there to pick up my car & they tell me my total is $141.19.

My jaw dropped and they explained why and how, and I said that on the phone I was told Id get a deal, and Tom said that $90 was the deal from $120. I couldnt argue since this whole process made me late for work already, but it made me upset & I will not be going back there again without appeasement.

I sent this message to Mavis customer support earlier this week and never got any sort of response.

Don’t go for an alignment you’ll leave with off centered steering wheel

Took the trax in for new tires and an alignment. The tires are great.

The alignment on the other hand wasn't done right. When I left and was driving straight my steering wheel was off centered. Wasn't off centered when I went there. After being there for 3 1/2 hours waiting on my tires and alignment I just went home.

Mind you I ordered tires from there and couldn't get an appointment. This place is on a first come, first served basis. So I went back again and told them the alignment was off I waited another couple of hours to be seen only to be told that it was done right. Drove away with the steering wheel off centered again.

Went back a third time and spoke with the manager to be told that their alignment machine don't work correctly, and he has been asking the higher ups to get someone in to fix it. My question is why are they taking money for alignments when they know their machine isn't working? The manager said he knows someone at the shop up the road (Monroe muffler)and he could use theirs. Texted him the next day to see when I could get it done, and he said he hasn't talked to his friend yet.

Returned today after work for a refund. So I spent over 6 hours at their first come, first served *** service for nothing but wear on my new tires with *** alignment service.

Services not authorized or performed and damage to car

I was told that I badly needed new front and rear shocks. That the car was not safe to drive. They also charged for extended warranty, brake flush, power steering flush and all new wipers. None of this was authorized. The work was also sloppy, with loose parts left on tailgate and in back of the car. They forgot to change out the spare which I requested. They did not replace the rear shocks as they were on order. After picking up the car, all the warning lights were on and there were warning messages displayed. Apparently, the speed sensor and harness was damaged. They needed to order parts to repair and were to be in the next day. After over a week, I have not hear from them. I had to go to dealer to fix the problem and check out the car. The dealer said that the rear shocks were fine and did not need replacement. I sent a request to Mavis customer service and have had no reply. Do Not use this business.

Jessica the store manager is completely rude to customers. I was given a discount over the phone and was denied it during checkout by her. Her mask was half on, and shes pushy to customers.Ill never go back and never refer Mavis to anyone. I never got a call back from her manager either, its criminal to steal ten dollars from a customer,and to be treated so rude.. How many times has this happened?Dont go to Mavis

Disappointment in mechanic work

i had mavis of turnersville nj replace the front driverside brake celunoid, brake pad and rotar replaced by them. i've been back twice due to my brake locking up. today is march 25th. it is locking up again.

Horrible service experience

I had appointment yesterday at 2pm which I took off work at noon and arrived at 1pm schedule for brakes special and rear rotors replace sitting in the lobby for five hours no one communicate with me at until closing time about my car which telling me that they mechanic did not do my car bring in the morning which agree for 8am I'm the very first car to pull this morning now it's a repeat from yesterday
