Manager said it would take about 1/2 hour to get 4 tires on my car. Seemed right, only one other customer in store.

After they had all tires off the rims (and after trying to sell me a bunch of unnecessary stuff) he told me they only had 3 tires for my car and I would have to wait for 1 to be sent from another store. I spent 2 1/2 hours at the store waiting for my tires to be completed! Not even an apology.

I would have gladly came back at another time if he had told me up front the 4 tires weren't available. That wasted time had lost me a client and $$ because I missed an appointment.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $200.

A reputable tire shop would have had someone pulling the tires for your vehicle while someone else was pulling your car in. At that point they would have realized that either their inventory was off, a tire was stocked incorrectly or even mislabeled.

As you witnessed Mavis is more concerned with upselling than performing the actual work requested.

It was one of the most frustrating company policies I had ever encountered. Shop managers are forced to direct their shop personnel to strip a car down FIRST, attempt add on sales and THEN continue with predefined work. Essentially making you a captive customer. The logic, if we can call it that, is that you will see your car apart and mentally assume it's going to be a while so additional procedures don't seem as inconvenient.

I'll go ahead and guess the unnecessary stuff was something like a Brake Flush, Power Steering Flush or Tire Pressure Monitor rebuild kits. All very high profit margin items that take little time or material to complete.

The TPMS kits being the only thing that might actually do something positive. The brake/power steering flush's are complete *** especially the manner in which they perform it.
