Went to Mavis a few months ago to have a brake line at the rear axle repaired. Asst Mgr Dave told me he would need to replace everything all the way to the master cylinder. Told me it would take 3 to 4 hours, didn't have time to do it, but to bring it back the next day to have the work done. I took it to another mechanic, had it fixed within 1 hour. Took my wife's car there today to have a... Read more

Had front struts replaced on my Sonata 14 months ago. Apparently one was a defective unit. Front tire bouncing over all bumps. Went back in only to be told there is nothing wrong. I insisted that the strut was bad from my own experience as a past mechanic. They charged me labor all over again despite my strongly arguing that the labor should be covered! Struts were covered by Monroe's... Read more

I took my car in to have a flat patched. Cost me $35. By the next night, the tire was flat again. I tried to change the tire, but the incompetent *** who originally did my tire tightened the ****** lugs so much, that I stripped it trying to get it off, and was unable to. I want my money back for the tire and new lugs. and will complain to corporate if I have to in order to get it. This is... Read more

Stopped in Friday and was quoted for 4 new tires, had to order them so come in Monday 9am. Arrived on time, took over 1 hour, paid over $600 dollars, they changed the seals on the tpm's. I was not expecting that but, I drove about 1 mile and heard some rattle noise in the front, getting on the freeway when I hit 50 mph the steering wheel shook so bad I had to slow down, I turned around and went... I purchased tires from mavis earlier in the year. When i wrnt to remove my rims to paint them, i found that the lugs were torqued on there with over 400lbs of torque. Manufacturer recomends 80-100lbs. I went back to have them lossened and they charged me labor for their mistake. Then when i was paying the manager was saying that his mechanic went through 3 $10 sockets. I let them use my $20... Read more

I got tires from them early this year and when i went to remove my own tires with an electric impactor, none of the lugnuts would budge. They cranked them on way too tight. Manufacturer recomends 80-100lb of torque and these were on with more than 400lb. I went back to them to have them lossened and thet charged me labor for their mistake. Never again. Add comment

Made appointment at Mavis in Norwich, NY for 2 new rear tires. Wife dropped off car and when she returned to pick it up was told a new TPM sensor was installed to replace a faulty one. No one called to obtain permission and both rear sensors were working fine before that. Car was held hostage for the sensor and relearning fees until she paid it. New sensor either doesn't work right or else was... Read more
